The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (the LCPL Nicholas Larson Home), is a transitional housing program for homeless veterans who present with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and/or a substance abuse disorder. Residency is limited to five residents, and there is a waiting list. While in residency; veterans will be provided with continuing education (GED/college advising), psychotherapy, substance abuse assessment and treatment, legal assistance, job training and employment/career opportunities, and independent living skills such as: budgeting, and housekeeping. Meal preparation is developed through staff assistance.
